2010 Great Salt Lake Issues Forum PDF Print E-mail

The 2010 Great Salt Lake Issues Forum, held April 28-30th, was a success! Over 100 people participated and joined in on the conversation to discuss "Keeping the Lake Wet: A Water Appropriation for Great Salt Lake".

Projected population growth, increased water diversions, water quality, predicted trends in climate change, and increased industrialization on the lake are compelling reasons to consider a "conservation pool" for Great Salt Lake. It's time to start asking the hard questions about how much water is needed to maintain the ecological integrity of the lake and sustain the delivery of ecosystem services. The goal of the 2010 GSL Issues Forum is to begin a process. A process that focuses our attention on the future of the lake and how water fits into that picture. Visit the 2010 Issues Forum Website.

A video of Issues Forum speakers, as well as powerpoint presentations and poster abstracts, will be available on the Issues Forum Website by mid-May.
